Use A Drain Claw

In most cases, a drain claw will do the trick. This device can quickly and easily clear clogs that have formed in your bathtub drain. Here are the materials you’ll need:
  • Screwdriver
  • A washcloth or paper towels
  • Drain claw

Steps To Use A Drain Claw To Clear Your Clog

1 – Remove the stopper and strainer
2 – Use a washcloth or paper towel to remove any excess hair & soap scum that has accumulated around the strainer/stopper.
3 – Once the strainer & stopper are clean, insert the drain claw into the drain. Keep pushing through the drain trap. You should feel some resistance when you hit it.
4 – Move the drain claw in a slow back & forth motion.
5 – Remove & clean the drain claw
6 – Test the clog. If it is clear, replace the stopper & strainer.

Use A Toilet Plunger

Wait. What? A toilet plunger? Yes, a toilet plunger. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. Here are the materials you’ll need:
  • Screwdriver
  • Plunger

Steps To Clear Your Clog With A Plunger

1 – Remove the stopper & strainer
2 – Use a washcloth or paper towel to remove any excess hair & soap scum that has accumulated around the strainer/stopper.
3 – Fill the bathtub with a few inches of water. Just enough to create some suction with the plunger.
4 – Use the plunger just as you would on the toilet. Place the plunger directly over the drain & press up and down quickly.
5 – After 10-15 plunges, check for any dirty water and/or debris coming up from the drain. If not, keep plunging.
6 – If you don’t get the waste out, you’ll have to try another method. However, if you do get it out, your job is done quick & easy!
